چکیده
Acoustofluidics offers contact-free manipulation of particles and fluids, enabling their uses in various life sciences, such as for biological medical applications. Recently, there have been extensive studies on acoustic streaming-based acoustofluidics, which are formed inside a liquid agitated by leaky surface waves (SAWs) through applying radio frequency signals to interdigital transducers (IDTs) piezoelectric substrate. This paper aims describe acoustofluidics provide readers with an unbiased perspective determine IDT structural designs techniques most suitable research. review, first, qualitatively quantitatively introduces underlying physics streaming. Then, it comprehensively discusses the fundamental technology generating types streaming phenomena. Acoustic streaming-related methodologies corresponding biomedical applications highlighted discussed, according either standing or traveling generated, also sessile droplets continuous fluids used. Traveling SAW-based generate physical phenomena including mixing, concentration, rotation, pumping, jetting, nebulization/atomization, droplet generation, well mixing concentration channel/chamber. Standing SAWs induce digital can be used sorting, trapping Key challenges, future developments, directions finally discussed.

A simple and novel method for acoustic streaming power measurement of ultrasonic horn
Ultrasonic horn with transfer of acoustic wave into an aqueous solution results in unique properties. When, transfer of sound wave into a liquid results in liquid movement in the direction of wave propagation which gradually loses its energy due to the viscous friction. This wave motion induces a flow which is known as acoustic streaming or micro-streaming. In this article, a simple innovative ...

Manipulation of biological cells by acoustic radiation forces is often motivated by its improved biocompatibility relative to alternative available methods. On the other hand, it is well known that acoustic exposure is capable of causing damage to tissue or cells, primarily due to heating or cavitation effects. Therefore, it is important to define safety guidelines for the design and operation ...

In this paper, Part 7 of the thematic tutorial series "Acoustofluidics-exploiting ultrasonic standing waves, forces and acoustic streaming in microfluidic systems for cell and particle manipulation", we present the theory of the acoustic radiation force; a second-order, time-averaged effect responsible for the acoustophoretic motion of suspended, micrometre-sized particles in an ultrasound field.
